Ruling on saying "Allah has afflicted me with such and such"
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q273: The questioner says: Some people say: "Allah has afflicted me with this matter," as if they say: "Allah has afflicted me with these children." What is the ruling on saying this phrase?
A273: It is a trial from Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He. Allah the Exalted said:[Al-Anbya 21:35], meaning a test. There is no doubt that this is a trial from Allah. He must be patient and seek reward, and not be distressed. He must fulfill his obligatory duties toward his children, and his wealth must not prevent him, nor his children distract him, from the remembrance of Allah, Mighty and Majestic.
A273: It is a trial from Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He. Allah the Exalted said:
Every soul will taste death. And We test you with evil and with good as trial; and to Us you will be returned.
كُلُّ نَفْسٍ ذَائِقَةُ الْمَوْتِ وَنَبْلُوكُمْ بِالشَّرِّ وَالْخَيْرِ فِتْنَةً وَإِلَيْنَا تُرْجَعُونَ
