The Ruling on Complaining to Others About Worries and Sorrows

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
This is a group of young women, and their sisters have a set of questions: What is the ruling in the Shari'ah, in your view, O Shaykh, regarding one who complains to his friend about some of his worries? Is that considered objecting to the divine decree and destiny of Allah?

Answer:
If the complaint about worries is for the sake of cooperation, to let out what is in his heart, perhaps Allah will benefit him through his opinion and his effort in the way of consultation and seeking help through advice, then there is nothing wrong with that. He complains of his worries and needs to seek his advice. And if he is in dire necessity and asks for help, there is nothing wrong with that. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
begging is not permissible but for one of the threeإن المسألة لا تحل إلا لأحدد ثلاثة
Sahih Muslim 1044
The matter of asking for help ......
begging is not permissible but for one of the three (classes) of persons: one who has incurred debt, for him begging is permissible till he pays that off, after which he must stop it; a man whose property has been destroyed by a calamity which has smitten him, for him begging is permissible till he gets what will support lifeلا تحل إلا لأحد ثلاثة: رجل تحمل حمالة فحلت له المسألة حتى يصيبها ثم يمسك، ورجل أصابته جائحة اجتاحت ماله فحلت له المسألة حتى يصيب قوامًا من عيش
Sahih Muslim 1044
Or he said:
what will provide a reasonable subsistence); and a man who has been smitten by povertyسدادًا من عيش، ورجل أصابته فاقة
Sunan Abi Dawud 1640Sahih (Al-Albani)
Meaning: He was wealthy and in a good state, then he was struck by poverty
Until three men of wisdom from his people say: So-and-so has been struck by povertyحتى يقول ثلاثة من ذوي الحجا من قومه: لقد أصابت فلانًا فاقة
Sahih Ibn Hibban 13:188
Meaning: Until they testify for him. He said:
Qabisa, besides these three (every other reason) for begging is forbidden, and one who engages in such consumes that what is forbidden.فما سواهن من المسألة يا قبيصة سحتًا، يأكلها صاحبها سحتًا
Sahih Muslim 1044
So if a person asks because of a calamity that struck him, or poverty that overtook him due to the loss of his wealth, there is no blame on him for that. Yes.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good.
