Question:
We move on to a message received by the program from one of the brother listeners from Hadramawt. The sender (A.A.G) says in one of his questions: I read in the book *Mughni al-Muhtaj ila Ma'rifati Ma'ani Alfaz al-Minhaj* by the Shaykh Muhammad al-Shirbini a hadith that says: From Ibn Abbas: “That the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to place his hand on the ground when he stood up from prayer, just as a kneader does.” How authentic is this hadith? And what is its meaning? May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
It is known that it is not authentic. A person may support himself on his hands, on the palms, or on the backs of the hands, wherever he wishes; this is the default. If he supports himself on his knees, provided he is strong and active, that is better. If he needs the ground, he may support himself on the ground with the palms of his hands or the backs of his fingers; there is no blame in any of that, and praise be to Allah. The matter is broad in this regard. As for it being in the manner of a kneader, there is no authentic evidence for it.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good.
