The ruling on the one whose prayer does not restrain him from indecency and wrongdoing
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
He asks another question, saying: What is the ruling on the one whose prayer does not restrain him from indecency and wrongdoing?
Answer:
His ruling is that he is negligent and in great danger. It is obligatory for him to hold himself to account, and to repent to Allah from his bad deeds. And whoever repents, Allah accepts his repentance. Allah the Exalted says: [al-Nur:31]. And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Sunan Ibn Majah 4250Da’if (Darussalam).
So it is obligatory for every believer, male and female, to repent to Allah from bad deeds, to hold himself to account, and to strive against his soul for the sake of Allah, hoping for His reward and fearing His punishment. And whoever is sincere in that, and strives against his soul in seeking the truth and abandoning falsehood, Allah will help him and guide him to the path, as He the Exalted said: [al-'Ankabut:69]. And He the Exalted said: [al-Talaq:2-3].
And He the Exalted said: [al-Talaq:4]. So it is obligatory for all believers, men and women, to repent to Allah the Exalted from all sins, to strive against the soul and Satan, to beware of bad companions, and to be eager for the company of the righteous, along with supplicating to Allah and asking Him for success and guidance. He the Exalted is the best of responders and the best of helpers. And He is the One who said: : [Ghafir:60]. And He the Exalted said: [al-Baqarah:186]. May Allah guide them all.
The presenter : O Allah, amen. May Allah reward you with good.
