Explaining that prayer restrains from indecency and wrongdoing

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q148: The questioner says: I pray, but I commit some wrongs. Why has prayer not restrained me from wrongdoing?
A148: Maintain your prayer and leave aside your intrusive thoughts, for they are from Satan. Leave the wrongs, and Allah will help you through prayer to leave the wrongs. Allah the Exalted said:
Recite, [O Muhammad], what has been revealed to you of the Book and establish prayer. Indeed, prayer prohibits immorality and wrongdoing, and the remembrance of Allah is greater. And Allah knows that which you do.
[Al-'Ankabut 29:45]
The fact that you have this feeling is evidence that prayer has had an effect on you, because you fear Allah (Mighty and Majestic). So, leave the wrongs for the sake of Allah (Mighty and Majestic).
