The ruling on one who prolongs the prayer for the people

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
What is the ruling in Islam regarding an imam who prolongs the prayer beyond what is necessary? We advised him, but he refused the advice. When we point out his prolongation, he says: You can pray in other mosques.

Answer:
He should be advised, and what the Sunnah brought should be explained to him. He should be given the book on prayer by Ibn al-Qayyim, as well as the books that explain the manner of the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) prayer, so that perhaps he will be convinced, if Allah wills.
The point is that he should be advised and guided by the scholars among the righteous whom he respects and who know their virtue and knowledge. They should be indicated to advise him if he is prolonging the prayer and driving people away. However, advice from the common people is not beneficial. But the scholars should be indicated, and they should be asked to advise him if his action is repulsive and involves excessive length, so that he may benefit, if Allah wills, from his brothers. Yes.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good, and may He do you good.
