If one catches the imam at the bowing, does he begin with the opening supplication or remain silent?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
If the follower enters the prayer with the imam while he is at the end of the recitation and before the bowing, is it permissible for the follower to begin the prayer with the opening supplication, “Glory be to You, O Allah, and praise to You... etc.,” or does he enter with the imam and remain silent?

Answer:
If the follower arrives and the imam is at the bowing, he bows with him and does not recite the opening supplication nor read anything; rather, he says the takbir and bows. However, if he arrives with ample time and the imam is standing, he recites the opening supplication and reads Surat al-Fatihah. This is what is prescribed for him: he begins with the opening supplication first, then reads Surat al-Fatihah. Even in the prayers where the imam recites aloud, if the imam is silent, he reads it during the silence; if there is no silence, he reads it to himself. Then, after that, he listens to his imam. As for if he arrives late at the time of the bowing, he says the takbir and bows, and Surat al-Fatihah is dropped from him because he is excused.
