The Ruling on the Duha Prayer

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The question: This is a message received from Duhok in Iraq. It says: I hope you will present this to your eminence. It also says: I also hope you will provide us with the program's address.
The program's address, my brother, is the Saudi Arabian Broadcasting Corporation in Riyadh, the program "Light on the Path."
He says in his message: Peace be upon you, and Allah's mercy and blessings. We, the Muslim community, benefit greatly from your program. I ask Allah for success and guidance for us and for you, and may Allah keep you on the path of truth. He says: I pray the Duha sunnah, but on some days I forget and do not pray it. Is there a sin on me for this, since my preoccupation with household matters causes me to forget the prayer on some days?
The answer: The Duha sunnah is a sunnah, not an obligation, but a voluntary prayer. It is recommended for the believer to pray the Duha prayer, two rak'ahs or more, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) advised and as he (peace and blessings be upon him) also practiced. However, if a person intentionally leaves it or is preoccupied and does not pray it, there is no making it up and no sin on him, for it is a voluntary prayer, praise be to Allah. Whoever prays it has a reward, and whoever leaves it has no sin on him. Whoever is consistent in praying it has a reward, and whoever is not consistent has nothing required of him. The matter in this regard is broad, praise be to Allah. Yes.
