The ruling on saying: “I am divorced if I do such and such”

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
He says: Is there any validity in saying, “I am divorced if I do such and such,” when I do not intend this divorce, and it is merely a phrase, and Allah knows what is in my heart? Is that valid, and is a divorce binding on me?
Answer: If one pronounces a divorce, it is binding whether in earnest or in jest. So if he says, “I am divorced from so-and-so,” or “So-and-so is divorced,” the divorce is binding on him, provided the conditions are met, if the woman is eligible for divorce.
It is not permissible for him to play with divorce; because the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
There are three matters in which seriousness is serious and joking is serious: marriage, divorce and taking back (one's wife).ثلاث جدهن جد وهزلهن جد: النكاح والطلاق والرجعة
Sunan Ibn Majah 2039Hasan (Darussalam)
.
It is obligatory to guard the tongue and not to play with divorce, and one should not pronounce a divorce except with full awareness, whether she is pregnant, or in a state of purity in which he has not had intercourse with her, or if she is a woman who does not menstruate. Either she is pregnant, or she is a woman who does not menstruate, or she is in a state of purity in which he has not had intercourse with her. Yes.
The presenter: May Allah preserve you.
