Ruling on Taking Stimulant Pills

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner: Also, in his letter, he says: Some drivers of cars or travel buses take stimulant pills. These do not alter the mind, but they remove sleep from them. Are they forbidden, considering that they cost some money?
The answer: We have been informed through known channels, by those who know about them, and by people of trust, that these pills harm them and cause an abnormal wakefulness. Consequently, a person drives while not in his right mind, and many accidents occur due to his lack of sleep, even though he thinks he is fine when he is not.
Therefore, one must be cautious of these pills, and it is obligatory to disapprove of them and put an end to them. A person should drive as long as he is active, strong, and free from drowsiness. If he feels drowsy, he must stop driving so that he does not harm people, and so that he does not harm himself as well.
As for taking these pills, it leads to much evil, many harms, and great dangers, as is the reality with these drivers who take these pills, and as is witnessed by everyone who knows the situation of these pills and their users. Yes.
