What is the interpretation of the saying of Allah the Exalted: "Every soul is a pledge for what it has earned, except the owners of the right hand"? What is meant by "the owners of the right hand" in the verse, and why are they not pledged?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : In the interpretation of the noble verse in the saying of Allah the Exalted:
(38) Every soul, for what it has earned, will be retained (39) Except the companions of the right, كل نفس بما كسبت رهينة إلا أصحاب اليمين
[Al-Muddaththir 74:38-39]
from Surat al-Muddaththir, the question is: What is meant by "the owners of the right hand" in the verse? And why are they not pledged by their sins?

The Shaykh :
Every soul, for what it has earned, will be retained كل نفس بما كسبت رهينة
[Al-Muddaththir 74:38]
means pledged and detained for what it has earned. As for His saying:
Except the companions of the right, إلا أصحاب اليمين
[Al-Muddaththir 74:39]
So the "except" here means "however," because it is a disconnected exception.
