Is the recitation of al-Fatihah sufficient in prayer for one who does not know any other surah?

A message was received by the program from Iraq, sent by one of the sisters there, stating: The citizen Nashmiyah Naif, Baghdad - Iraq, my problem is that I am illiterate and I do not know how to read or write, and I pray the prayer at its times, and I do not know anything other than Surat al-Fatihah and "Say, He is Allah, the One," and I repeat these two surahs in every prayer, is that sufficient, and what do you advise me?
Answer: Yes, this is sufficient, and we ask Allah for you further success and steadfastness upon the truth. Al-Fatihah is sufficient on its own; because it is the Mother of the Qur'an, and because it is a pillar of the prayer. So when Allah made it easy for you to have with it the surah[Al-Ikhlas 112:1], which is a great surah, Surat al-Ikhlas, and it is considered equal to one-third of the Qur'an, this is a great blessing from Allah, and that is sufficient for you. Even if you repeat it in the prayers and in other times, this is a great blessing, so increase in reciting them outside of the prayer. For you is a good deed for every letter, and the good deed is ten times its like, and this is a great good. And if it becomes easy for you to have someone read to you some of the short surahs from your sisters or your neighbors, or your husband or some of your mahrams, this is a great good, such as: [Al-Falaq 113:1] [An-Nas 114:1] [Al-Masad 111:1] [An-Nasr 110:1] [Al-Kawthar 108:1] and others from the short surahs of the final part of the Qur'an, this is good. And if you strive, if Allah wills, He will make it easy for you. Yes.
The presenter: Do you advise her, Your Eminence the Shaykh, to listen to tapes that contain surahs from the Qur'an so that perhaps she can memorize them?
The Shaykh: Likewise, we advise you to listen to the Qur'an radio from the Kingdom, for it has many benefits and much good. And we also advise you and recommend to you to listen to this program, "Light on the Path," for it has much good and much knowledge. So we ask Allah for you success.
