The Ruling on Abandoning Treatment with Modern Medicine and Treating with Prophetic Medicine

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The first message in this episode is from listener (M. Sh.), who asks Your Eminence and says: I want to know, O Shaykh, is this correct or incorrect? If it is correct, please help me increase my certainty and reliance on Allah: I am suffering from kidney failure, and the doctors say: if you abstain from kidney dialysis for ten days, you will die. I have resolved to treat myself with Prophetic medicine, which requires me to stop the dialysis, and to protect myself from food by relying on Allah, while taking the means of eating honey, which Allah mentioned in the Qur'an, drinking Zamzam water with the intention of healing, and reciting the Qur'an for ruqyah (healing by Qur'anic recitation). If I die, will I have destroyed myself, or is it a destiny that has ended? May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
They are all means. Your action is from the category of means, and the doctors' action is from the category of means. If you submit to the doctors' opinion, because they are more knowledgeable about the disease, there is no harm to you, and no blame, and praise be to Allah. And if you take the other means and do not accept the doctors' treatment, there is no blame; because treatment is not necessary, it is not obligatory. Treatment is recommended. Yes.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good, and may He do you good.
