The ruling on the bleeding of a pregnant woman during the day in Ramadan

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Umm Nawaf from Riyadh sent a message saying: A pregnant woman experiences bleeding during her pregnancy in the month of Ramadan. Is it obligatory for her to fast, or should she break her fast and then make it up? Please inform us. May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
A pregnant woman does not menstruate, according to the most correct of the scholars' opinions. Therefore, if she is pregnant, the bleeding she experiences is considered defective blood. She prays and fasts, and she protects herself with cotton or the like. She performs wudu' for the time of every prayer, and she does not make up missed prayers, just as a woman with irregular non-menstrual bleeding does not. This is because this bleeding is defective blood, and this is the correct view. If it continues with her, she protects herself with cotton or the like, performs wudu' for the time of every prayer, and prays, just as other women in a state of ritual purity pray. If that is difficult for her, she may combine prayers. There is no harm in combining Maghrib and 'Isha' and combining Zuhr and 'Asr, just as a sick woman does, because it is a type of illness. Her fasting is valid, and her prayer is valid. However, she should not perform wudu' until the time has entered. Whenever the time enters, she performs wudu'. Yes.
