The Priority of Performing Hajj Before Marriage and the Reverse

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
A listener named Ahmad Latifi Muhammad says: I am a single man, not married, and I am thirty-two years old. Should I start with Hajj, or with marriage? May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
If you are in need of marriage and you fear for yourself, then start with marriage, and perform Hajj later. After marriage, you perform Hajj if you are able. However, if you do not fear fitnah (trial, discord or temptation) and do not fear for yourself from delaying marriage, then start with Hajj, and then marry afterwards.
The point is that you consider what is the danger, what is the thing that harms you and that you fear. If delaying marriage harms you and you fear for yourself, then start with marriage.
And if you do not fear anything, and you fear that you will miss the opportunity for Hajj, then hasten to perform Hajj. Praise be to Allah. Do what is less harmful and more beneficial. You know yourself best; you know yourself best. So if you are in need of marriage and you fear for yourself from delaying it, then start with marriage. And if you—praise be to Allah—do not fear anything, rather you are reassured that there is nothing upon you and that delaying it does not harm you, then start with Hajj. Praise be to Allah. Yes.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good, and may He do you good.
