The ruling on calling someone "my master" or "my lord"

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Some people use the names "my lord" or "my master so-and-so." What is the ruling on this naming? And to whom is it permissible to say "my lord so-and-so" or "my master so-and-so"?

Answer:
This naming is not appropriate, neither "my lord" nor "my master." It should not be used; because it was reported from him (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said:
Do not say: "My lord," for your Lord is Allah
As-Sunan al-Kubra lil-Nasa'i 64:721
This is only said regarding the master of his slave and his property, as in the authentic hadith:
Let him say, "My master and my lord"
,
Let no one say: "Feed your Lord" or "Clothe your Lord," but let him say: "My master" and "My lord"
The slave says to his owner: "My master, my lord"; there is no harm in that. But if a person says to his brother: "O my lord" or "O my master," he should leave that. When a man said to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "You are our master," he said:
The lord is Allah, the Blessed and Exalted
Sunan Abi Dawud 4806Sahih (Al-Albani)
He feared that they would exaggerate regarding him (peace and blessings be upon him), so he said:
The lord is Allah, the Blessed and Exalted
Sunan Abi Dawud 4806Sahih (Al-Albani)
Even though he is the master of the children of Adam (peace and blessings be upon him), but he feared that they would fall into exaggeration due to this address.
So you should not say: "O my master so-and-so," or "You are our master" to Zayd or 'Amr. No, you say: "O Abu so-and-so," "O so-and-so," you call him by his name, or by his kunyah, or by one of the well-known names by which people are known, but it does not include "my master" or "my lord." This is what the believer should do in terms of proper conduct with what the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) explained, and adhering to the Shari'ah etiquettes in words and all actions.
