What is the ruling on using the term "master"? And what is the meaning of the hadith: "The master is only Allah"?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : ... regarding the reason for the hadith, look, this is the text, not the one that Shaykh Ibn Baz had.

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh : Yes?

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh : Ah, yes, what do you mean?

Eid Abbasi : ... .

The questioner : The grade of the hadith... authentic... .

The Shaykh : There is nothing wrong with this, my master; because making the Messenger a master, or rather making him a master, and he said about himself:
I am the leader of the sons of Adam, and it is no boast أنا سيد ولد آدم ولا فخر
Sunan Ibn Majah 4308Sahih (Darussalam)
, and he said regarding the master of the Ansar:
Rise to your master. قوموا إلى سيدكم
, so he called him a master while he himself—peace be upon him—was a master. So if... in some instances with this term, and nothing was associated with the address that indicated exaggeration in glorification; then it is speech in its proper place, and the hadith that you know when they said to him: You are our master, he said:
Al-Sayyid is Allah. السيد الله
, and in another hadith he says when a man said: You are our master and the son of our master, and you are the best of us and the son of the best of us, he said:
Say what you have to say, or part of what you have to say, and do not let the devil make you his agents. قولوا بقولكم هذا أو ببعض قولكم ، ولا يستجريَنَّكم الشيطان
Sunan Abi Dawud 4806Sahih (Al-Albani)
.
And in this is a reminder of two important things = -- and upon you be peace and the mercy of Allah and His blessings -- = : The first thing: the permissibility of saying "O my master," and the second thing: he said to them:
Say what you have to say, or part of what you have to say قولوا بقولكم أو ببعض قولكم
Sunan Abi Dawud 4806Sahih (Al-Albani)
; so this is clear evidence of the permissibility of calling the Messenger—peace be upon him—a master, but there is another benefit; which is the indication of the reason for the Messenger's—peace be upon him—response in the previous hadith to the one who said: You are our master; he said:
Al-Sayyid is Allah. السيد الله
; so this other hadith indicates why he rebuked them there? Fear that Satan might lead them astray. So if a person says to the Messenger—peace be upon him: O my master, and does not intend by this statement exaggeration in his status; then there is absolutely nothing wrong with it; because the Messenger is truly the master of all people on the Day of Resurrection.
