السؤال:
Following this is a message signed by a listener who says: Your brother (A. A. A. S.) from one of the Arab countries describes himself as having been a sinner against Allah, then he repented to Allah the Exalted, but he also fell into sin after repenting, and this caused him great anxiety. He asks whether Allah will punish him? And will Allah accept his repentance? Knowing that he repented to Allah, started reading the Qur'an a lot, and weeps out of fear of Allah. May Allah reward you with good.
Answer:
This is among the blessings of Allah; repentance is among the great blessings of Allah, and praise be to Allah who granted you repentance. If the repentance is sincere and includes its three conditions, which are: regret for the past sins, abandoning them, and guarding against them, with the resolve not to return to them, and he is sincere in that, and what moved him to this was the fear of Allah, His magnification, and sincerity to Him, then the sins are erased by this repentance. As for the new sin, he must repent from it alone, and the previous repentance has erased what passed. He should not fear as long as he repented with a sincere, pure repentance to Allah, regretting the past, abandoning the past, and resolving with a sincere resolve not to return to it, for Allah erases it thereby. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: meaning: it destroys what came before it. And he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Sunan Ibn Majah 4250Da’if (Darussalam).
As for the new sin, he must repent from it with a new repentance. And if he repents from the new sin, Allah will erase it from him as well, if he repents with a sincere repentance involving regret for it, abandoning it, guarding against it, and a sincere resolve not to return to it, fearing Allah, magnifying Allah, and being sincere to Allah; Allah will erase it just like the one before it. Except if the sin involves a creation, an encroachment on a creation, taking his wealth, striking him, or spilling his blood; these have a fourth condition. It is necessary to give the creation his right, or seek his forgiveness. So repentance from the right of a creation is not complete except with a fourth condition, which is that he gives him his right, or seeks his forgiveness and he permits it. Yes.
