Question:
After this, a message arrived on the program from Riyadh, sent by a listener who referred to his name by the letters (M. A. S). Our brother has a collection of questions, among which is a question that says: What is Your Eminence’s opinion of this supplication: O Allah, cause me to die fasting, prostrating, a martyr on a Friday, O Ever-Living! O Self-Subsisting! O Possessor of Majesty and Honor?

Answer:
I do not know of any basis for this supplication. It is sufficient for him to say: O Allah, cause me to die a Muslim, O Allah, cause me to die a believer, O Allah, cause me to die upon Islam, or the like of that. There is no need for this specific restriction.
The point is: I do not know of any basis for this supplication. It is sufficient for him to say what our Lord said about Yusuf:
Cause me to die a Muslim and join me with the righteous."تَوَفَّنِي مُسْلِمًا وَأَلْحِقْنِي بِالصَّالِحِينَ
[Yusuf:101]. He asks his Lord that Allah cause him to die a Muslim, a believer, steadfast in obedience to Allah and His Messenger. And that is sufficient, and praise be to Allah. Yes.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good, and may He do you good.
