Signs of the Acceptance of Repentance and Righteous Deeds

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
This questioner, who has used the initials (S. A.) as a code for his name, from the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, says: I ask the Shaykh to answer my questions: What are the signs that Allah accepts the repentance of a believer, and that He accepts his deeds, such as prayer and fasting, as rewarded?

Answer:
Among the signs that Allah accepts the repentance of a servant and his deeds is his steadfastness upon truth and guidance, and his walking upon the straight path. This is among the signs that Allah has guided him and accepted him, whenever he repents to Allah, turns back to Him, and remains steadfast upon the truth. This is among the signs of success, and that Allah has accepted his repentance. His deviation and lack of steadfastness are evidence that the repentance was not sincere, or that Allah did not accept it from him.
The point is: that the steadfastness of the servant after repentance, and his walking upon the straight path—if he was not praying, he continues to pray; if he was not fasting, he continues to fast; if he was undutiful to his parents, he continues to be dutiful to his parents. If he persists in this, then this is a sign of good, just as a person after Ramadan, if he persists in good, these are signs that Allah has accepted his fasting. And if he deviates, then these are signs of lack of success—may Allah grant us well-being. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good, O Shaykh.
