Is it better to conclude the prayer with the imam until he leaves in the night prayer of Ramadan?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The questioner says: In the tarawih prayer, after the imam prays the witr, we do not conclude the prayer with him; rather, we stand up and pray an additional rak'ah so that it does not remain odd; because we wish to delay the witr until after sleeping. Which is better, following the imam, or delaying the witr?

Answer:
The matter is broad in this. Whoever follows him is better off; he prays with him until he has the reward of what he did with the imam until he leaves. And whoever prays a rak'ah, making his witr even, and prays the witr at the end of the night; then the matter is broad—praise be to Allah. And if he concludes the prayer with him, it is perhaps better, if Allah wills.
Then he prays whatever is easy for him without a witr; he prays two rak'ahs... he prays four... eight, more or less, concluding the prayer from every two rak'ahs. And there is no need for the witr; because of the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
There are no two Witr in one night.لا وتران في ليلة
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 470Sahih (Darussalam)
But he prays whatever is easy for him, concluding the prayer from every two, and praise be to Allah. And as for his concluding the prayer, it is better if it is with the imam, and it is further from showing off in worship.

The presenter: Very well, may Allah reward you with good, Your Eminence, Shaykh 'Abd al-'Aziz.
