Among the characteristics of Ramadan: the prescription of standing in prayer during its nights.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : And among them is that
Whoever stands in prayer in Ramadan with faith and seeking reward, Allah will forgive him his previous sins. من قام رمضان إيماناً واحتساباً غفر الله له ما تقدم من ذنبه
Sahih Ibn Hibban 10:853
. If you stood in prayer in Rajab, Sha'ban, or Shawwal, you would not receive this reward. The reward is only for the one who stands in prayer in what? Ramadan, with faith and seeking reward.
So if someone asks: Is it possible for a person to stand in prayer for the entire month of Ramadan?
We said: Yes, it is possible. It is established from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that
Indeed, whoever stands (praying) with the Imam until he finished, then it is recorded for him that he prayed the whole night. من قام مع الإمام حتى ينصرف كتب له قيام ليلة كاملة
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 806Sahih (Darussalam)
. And he was on his bed. Pay attention. The reason for this statement from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is that he stood in prayer with his companions until the middle of the night, so they said: O Messenger of Allah, grant us the rest of our night—meaning: give us more. He said:
Indeed, whoever stands (praying) with the Imam until he finished, then it is recorded for him that he prayed the whole night. إنه من قام مع الإمام حتى ينصرف كتب له قيام ليلة
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 806Sahih (Darussalam)
. Praise be to Allah. Standing in prayer for a night while you are sleeping on your bed. Yes, standing in prayer for a night. But be careful that when you enter the prayer with the imam, you do not leave until he finishes. As for praying two rak'ahs with this one, two rak'ahs with that one, and two rak'ahs with another, that is not valid.
So if a person asks: Is it better to limit myself to this, or to leave the imam when he stands for the witr and pray at the end of the night and perform the witr after the prayer? Did you understand the question now? That is, one person says: Is it better, if I pray with the imam until he finishes, to limit myself to this and stop, or is it better that when the imam stands for the witr, I leave the imam because I will pray at the end of the night and leave the imam, and when I pray at the end of the night, I conclude my prayer with the witr? Yes? The first is better, because if you remain with the imam until he finishes, you attain the standing in prayer for the entire night. You attain the standing in prayer for the entire night in congregation. And you give yourself a greater share of rest. If the second scenario—meaning: leaving the imam and performing tahajjud at the end of the night and performing the witr—had been a required matter, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would have said to the Companions: Perform tahajjud at the end of the night. But he did not say this; rather, he said:
Indeed, whoever stands (praying) with the Imam until he finished, then it is recorded for him that he prayed the whole night. من قام مع الإمام حتى ينصرف كتب له قيام ليلة
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 806Sahih (Darussalam)
