The age at which a child is disciplined for committing a mistake

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
A questioner from Sudan (student, M. M. D.) asks in this question: What is the age at which a child is struck if he commits a mistake, for the purpose of disciplining him?

Answer:
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said regarding prayer:
Command your children to pray at seven years of age, and beat them for it at ten.مروا أولادكم بالصلاة لسبع واضربوهم عليها لعشر
Sunan ad-Daraqutni 3:5
Regarding prayer, a child is struck at the age of ten, both the girl and the boy.
And likewise for fasting; if he is able to fast, he is struck until he fasts, and the girl is struck until she fasts.
As for other matters, the mischief that a son commits, his father strikes him even if he is small, if he is being mischievous. Even if he is five or six years old and is messing with things, he disciplines him with what is appropriate: light striking that frightens him is permissible. This is because it falls to the teacher, or the disciplinarian of the child, whether his mother, his father, or his wet nurse. Even if he is small, he is disciplined with the discipline that prevents him, with appropriate striking and appropriate reprimand. A five-year-old, a four-year-old, and a three-year-old, each has the reprimand that suits him, so that he does not harm others and is not harmed himself; he does not do something that harms him.
As for what concerns religion, he is struck at the age of ten for prayer, and for fasting if he is strong enough to fast.
As for what concerns harming people, such as a child who harms people, or breaks vessels, or knocks over a container... his father, or his mother, or his wet nurse disciplines him with what is appropriate, that which turns him back from destruction and corruption. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
