Does the virtue of voluntary prayer in the home include the two Sacred Mosques?

Question:
The questioner, Abdulrahman from al-Madinah al-Nabawiyyah, says: Your Eminence! I am a resident of al-Madinah al-Nabawiyyah, and praise be to Allah for this blessing, as I have performed the obligatory prayer in al-Masjid al-Nabawi. My question is about the regular voluntary prayers (rawatib). I am confused between two hadiths: the first is:
Salat is this Masjid of mine is better than a thousand Salatصلاة في مسجدي هذا خير من ألف صلاة
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 325Sahih (Darussalam)
, and the other is:
A man’s prayer in his home is better, except for the obligatory prayerصلاة الرجل في بيته أفضل إلا المكتوبة
. Please guide us, Your Eminence.

Answer:
It is the Sunnah for the believer to pray the regular voluntary prayers in his home; this is the best. This is based on the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in the authentic hadith:
The most excellent prayer of a person is (that which he prays) in his house except that which is prescribed (the five congregational prayers).أفضل صلاة المرء في بيته إلا المكتوبة
Bulugh al-Maram 2:313
. This is how he taught his Companions in al-Madinah in his noble mosque. Your prayer in your home is better than your prayer in the mosque, and you will receive a great reward because you obeyed the command of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and followed his guidance. So, if you pray the obligatory prayer in the mosque, the regular voluntary prayers are better in the home. If the reward for praying in the mosque is a thousand times, then in the home it is more, because you obeyed the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and followed the Sunnah.
And so it is in Makkah, and so it is in every place. What is attached to the obligatory prayer, for which congregation is prescribed, is an exception. For example, the Tarawih prayer is better in the mosque, as is the eclipse prayer and the funeral prayer. These are better in the mosques and in the prayer grounds than in the home. Yes.

The presenter: Thank you, Your Eminence, and may Allah bless you, your knowledge, and benefit the Muslims through you.
