Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
After that, we move on to the questioner’s letter: Ibrahim Abdulaziz Abu Hamid from Riyadh sent a set of questions. He begins this letter with the first question, saying: What is the ruling on a woman uncovering her face before her husband’s father through breastfeeding?

Answer:
There is no harm. The husband’s father becomes a mahram (a relative one may not marry), whether by blood or by breastfeeding. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Breast-feeding makes unlawful (for marriages) the same things that blood tie make unlawful.يحرم من الرضاع ما يحرم من النسب
Sunan Ibn Majah 1937Sahih (Darussalam)
His father through breastfeeding, his son through breastfeeding, his grandfather through breastfeeding, and likewise his grandfather’s grandfather, his daughter’s son, and his son’s son, are all mahrams (relatives one may not marry) by blood and by breastfeeding. Yes.
