Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The questioner (Sabri A. A.) from the Arab Republic of Egypt says: What is the disbelief that expels one from the religion?

Answer:
The types of disbelief that expel one from the religion are numerous. Among them are: calling upon the dead, and seeking aid from the dead. Among them is: abandoning the prayer, where one leaves off the prayer and does not pray; this is major shirk (associating partners with Allah), may Allah grant us safety. Among them is: insulting the religion, insulting the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), insulting the Qur'an, and insulting Allah; these are apostasy from Islam. Among them is: mocking the religion, or mocking Allah, and the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him); these are apostasy from Islam. This is elaborated in the chapter on the ruling of the apostate. Whoever wishes to know this should look into the chapter on the ruling of the apostate in all four schools of jurisprudence. They established a chapter titled: "The Chapter on the Ruling of the Apostate," in which they mentioned the types of apostates and the causes of their apostasy. May Allah grant us safety. Yes.

The presenter: O Allah, amen.
