Does going to a fortune-teller or a diviner constitute disbelief that expels one from the religion?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Expels one from the religion?

The Shaykh : Yes?

The questioner : Expels one from the religion?

The Shaykh : This differs between practical disbelief and doctrinal disbelief. If he considers it permissible in his heart, then it is disbelief, indeed, it is exiting the religion. But if he believes that it is not permissible, just as the one who takes usury takes usury, and the thief steals, and so on. All of these are in the same status: whoever considers something of the forbidden permissible in his heart is a disbeliever with the disbelief of apostasy, and whoever limits his permissibility to the act without considering it permissible in his heart, it is the disbelief of sin and not the disbelief of apostasy.
