Warning Against Fabricated Hadiths

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The questioner: In our time, Your Eminence Shaykh Abdulaziz, fabricated hadiths have become numerous. Is there a remedy for such a matter, Your Eminence Shaykh Abdulaziz?

Answer:
The Shaykh: Fabricated hadiths have been numerous since ancient times, and scholars have written about them from the time of the Companions to this day. The fabricators are many, and they have fabricated things attributed to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and to others. However, whenever knowledge decreases and scholars become few, these lies, these fabrications, and these ignorances spread. And whenever scholars increase in a land, they are dealt with. This is only because the enemies of Islam are many, and the ignorant among students of knowledge and among the people are many. They assume that the hadiths narrated by some liars are authentic, so they spread them, whether in the virtues of prayer, or the virtues of fasting, or the virtues of charity, or in other matters. And some people, who are enemies of Islam, lie and spread enmity toward Islam and distortion of Islam.
The Shaykh: It is obligatory for the Muslim to be wary of believing them and not to accept from the hadiths except what the people of knowledge have testified to and explained to him. If he does not know, he should ask the people of knowledge. But if he has knowledge, praise be to Allah, the people of knowledge have explained what is known as the weak hadith, the fabricated hadith, and the authentic hadith. If he reads the words of the people of knowledge, he will know that. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good, O Shaykh.
