For this reason, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Sunan Ibn Majah 1110Sahih (Darussalam). Therefore, it is not permissible for him to speak, nor to say, "Be quiet, so-and-so," or "Be silent, so-and-so." Rather, he should listen, but he may gesture. There is no harm in gesturing to the speaker to make him stop. However, he must not speak. The meaning of is that the Friday prayer has become vain, meaning its virtue has been lost. Otherwise, the prayer remains valid, but he has missed the virtue.
