The questioner: Further clarification, but please, no harm.

The Shaykh: Go ahead.

The questioner: ... No harm, I mean. So, in summary, is it permissible for a woman to be among her female relatives or her mahram (a relative one may not marry) with her head uncovered, wearing a half-sleeve garment, for example, and showing part of her leg?

The Shaykh: Her festival.

The questioner: I mean, further clarification for the previous question.

The Shaykh : Yes, exactly.

The questioner: Is it permissible for a woman to be among her female relatives and her mahram (a relative one may not marry) with her head uncovered?

The Shaykh: Yes.

The questioner: And wearing a half-sleeve garment that reaches, for example, to the middle of her leg?

The Shaykh: The answer is, as we mentioned earlier, in brief, it is permissible.

The questioner: Yes.

The Shaykh: As long as she does not show anything from the places of adornment.

The questioner: Yes.

The Shaykh: So, it is permissible to show the arms, and the place of the earrings is also permissible.

The questioner: And the head?

The Shaykh: And the head as well, without a doubt, it is permissible. It is not obligatory for a woman to be severe with herself, and Allah has made things easy for her, as came in the authentic hadith: that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) entered one day upon Fatimah while she was lying on her bed, and with him was a slave of hers. She hurried to cover herself, and he said:
O my daughter, there is no harm to you; it is only your father and your slave. يا ابنتي ، لا بأس عليك ، إنما هو أبوك وغلامك
. So, it is not obligatory for a woman to cover her entire body in front of her Muslim sister; it is permissible for her to show what Allah has permitted her to show, and it is not obligatory. Rather, it is not permissible for her to be severe with herself, because the matter is, as they say, "Excessive tightness leads to looseness," excessive tightness leads to looseness. Yes, that is right. Please, go ahead.

The questioner: Go ahead.

The Shaykh : Oh God.
