Question:
The last question from our sister Nawara says: Is it permissible for a woman to shorten her prayer if she wants to visit her father’s house, which is a shortening distance away from her husband’s house, or not? May Allah guide you to what He loves and is pleased with.

Answer:
Yes, if she wants to travel to visit her father or anyone else at a shortening distance, she shortens her prayer, whether at her father’s house or at someone else’s, as long as she resides in another place with her husband. So, if she returns to her father to visit him, or to her mother or her siblings, she shortens her prayer if the distance is a shortening distance.
