Deeds that help to firm up faith and certainty

This is a questioner for the program, (H.A.) from Riyadh, who used this code for her name. She says: What are the deeds and words that help to firm up faith and certainty, and that keep the heart from hardness, lack of tranquility, and lack of humility?
Because sometimes I feel softness and humility in my heart, and sometimes I feel the opposite. Please guide us, Your Eminence the Shaykh.

Answer:
It is prescribed for the believing man and woman to increase in the remembrance of Allah, the recitation of the Qur'an, and asking Allah for success and guidance, and for the rectification of the heart. These things help in the rectification of hearts and in filling them with the remembrance of Allah, their humility, and their safety from whispers. So, increasing in the remembrance of Allah, and in the recitation of the Qur'an with reflection, and remembering the greatness of Allah, and that He, Glorified and Exalted is He, loves for His servants to ask Him, to remember Him, to fear Him, and to hope in Him. This is how the believing man and woman are: they keep in mind the greatness of Allah, and that He, Glorified and Exalted is He, is the Wise, the All-Knowing, the One who is worthy of being worshipped, and of being magnified and remembered. So they increase in the remembrance of Allah, in the recitation of the Qur'an, and in supplication, saying: "O Allah, rectify my heart. O Allah, have mercy on me. O Allah, guide me to what pleases You. O Allah, guide me to the straight path." They strive in supplication along with the remembrance of Allah, along with keeping in mind the greatness of Allah, and the fear of Allah . He strives to keep the company of the good, and the company of the good men and good women. The woman strives to keep the company of good women, and the man strives to keep the company of good men who help him in good. Yes.
