Question:
This questioner (Du'a M. M.) from the Arab Republic of Egypt says: I read a hadith that the imam saying at the end of the Friday sermon:
Indeed, Allah orders justice and good conduct
[Surat al-Nahl: 90] to the end of the verse, this is a religious innovation, is this correct? And if so, how does this happen among the imams of the mosques?
May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Praise be to Allah, and may Allah send prayers and peace upon the Messenger of Allah, and upon his family and his Companions, and upon whoever follows his guidance. As for what follows:
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to recite in the sermon—the Friday sermon—some verses (may Allah send prayers and peace upon him), and this verse:
Indeed, Allah orders justice and good conduct and giving to relatives
[Surat al-Nahl: 90] is among the most comprehensive verses; therefore, many preachers recite it in the sermon. Reciting it is among the best acts of drawing near to Allah, because it is a verse that comprehensively commands good and forbids evil:
Indeed, Allah orders justice and good conduct and giving to relatives and forbids immorality and bad conduct and oppression. He admonishes you that perhaps you will be reminded.
[Surat al-Nahl: 90] It is a great, comprehensive verse, from the concise words of wisdom, so there is nothing wrong with reciting it in sermons, yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
