Guidance for the Muslim to Pay Attention to Learning the Rulings of Acts of Worship
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Some people, Your Eminence, are lax in their acts of worship, and then they ask afterwards: Do you have any guidance regarding that?
Answer:
It is obligatory for the believer to pay attention to his acts of worship, such as Hajj, 'Umrah, prayer, and others. He must care for them and learn about them so that he performs prayer in its proper manner, fasting in its proper manner, Hajj in its proper manner, and 'Umrah in its proper manner. He must learn and understand the religion; because Allah has made prayer obligatory upon him, and made fasting in Ramadan obligatory upon him, and made Hajj obligatory upon him, and made 'Umrah obligatory upon him. Therefore, he must learn what enables him to fulfill this obligation, and he must not be lax in this. And whatever is necessary for the completion of an obligation is itself obligatory. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Sahih Muslim 1037a Therefore, understanding the religion is among the signs that Allah intends good for the servant, while turning away and heedlessness are among the signs of evil. We ask Allah for well-being.
