The reason for the obligation of the tashahhud in prayer

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
From Buraydah in the Qasim region, a message was sent by one of the female listeners. She says: Your sister in Allah, Umm Huda 'Abd al-Hadi, our sister has a collection of questions, one of which asks about the reason for the revelation of the tashahhud in prayer? And did Allah the Exalted speak to His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) regarding it?

Answer:
The Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) taught his ummah the tashahhud in prayer. He does not speak from personal desire. Allah said: :
By the star when it descends,وَالنَّجْمِ إِذَا هَوَى ۝
[An-Najm 53:1]
Your companion has not gone astray, nor has he lied, nor does he speak from personal desire, it is only a revelation that is revealed [Surah al-Najm: 1-4].
So the entire Sunnah is from the revelation of Allah to His Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He is the one who conveys from Allah. The Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) conveys the rulings of the Shari'ah from Allah, just as he conveyed the Qur'an, which is the speech of Allah. In this manner, he conveyed the Sunnah regarding what concerns prayer, zakah, fasting, Hajj, and other matters. He conveys the rulings of his religion from Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). So the tashahhud is part of that. He taught the ummah the first tashahhud and the last tashahhud (peace and blessings be upon him). He taught them what to say in the last tashahhud, seeking refuge from the punishment of Jahannam, from the punishment of the grave, from the punishment of the Fire, and from the trial of the Dajjal. He taught them many supplications (peace and blessings be upon him). He used to say in his prostration:
O Lord, forgive me all my sins, small and great, first and last, open and secret.اللهم اغفر لي ذنبي كله، دقه وجله، وأوله وآخره، وعلانيته وسره
Sahih Muslim 483
.
And he taught the Siddiq. When the Siddiq, Abu Bakr, said: O Messenger of Allah, teach me a supplication to recite in my prayer. He said: Say:
Allahumma inni zalamtu nafsi zulman kathiran wala yaghfirudhdhunuba illa anta, Faghfirli maghfiratan min indika war-hamni, innaka antalGhafur-Rahim.اللهم إني ظلمت نفسي ظلمًا كثيرًا، ولا يغفر الذنوب إلا أنت؛ فاغفر لي مغفرة من عندك، وارحمني إنك أنت الغفور الرحيم
Sahih al-Bukhari 6326
.
And Aisha said: O Messenger of Allah, if I encounter the Night of Decree, what should I say in it? He said:
Say: O Allah, You are the Pardoner and You love to pardon, so pardon me.قولي: اللهم إنك عفو، تحب العفو، فاعف عني
Bulugh al-Maram 5:57
So the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) conveys to the people what Allah has commanded him and what Allah has legislated in prayer and other matters, in the tashahhud and other things. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good, and may He do you good.
