The ruling on the pilgrimage of a debtor before paying off his debt

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The first question of this episode reached the program from a listener (M. L. N), an Egyptian residing in the Kingdom. Our brother has several questions, one of which is: Is the pilgrimage valid before paying off a debt? Please guide us, may Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon the Messenger of Allah, and upon his family and his Companions, and upon those who follow his guidance. As for what follows:
There is no harm, yes, the pilgrimage is valid, even if a person has a debt. However, it is preferable to start with the debt rather than the pilgrimage; because the pilgrimage is not obligatory in the case of inability, but only obligatory with the ability to perform it, and the debt is obligatory to be paid off. So you must hasten to pay the debt, unless you have the capacity to perform the pilgrimage and pay off the debt at the same time; praise be to Allah, yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good; he asks: Do the remaining installments I owe count as a debt that makes the pilgrimage invalid until they are paid off?

The Shaykh: Installments are a debt that must be paid at their due time. If you can perform the pilgrimage with money that does not affect the installments, then you must perform the pilgrimage, praise be to Allah, yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good, and may He do you good.
