Question:
Our sister also says: A man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! I send much blessings upon you, so how much of my blessings shall I assign to you? He said: He said: A quarter? He said: Al-Mustadrak lil-Hakim 25:708 He said: Half? He said: Al-Mustadrak lil-Hakim 25:708 He said: Two-thirds? He said: Al-Mustadrak lil-Hakim 25:708 He said: O Messenger of Allah! Then shall I assign all my blessings to you? He said: Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2457Da'if (Darussalam) Please guide us in this hadith? And explain it to us? May Allah reward you with good, and is it permissible for us to send blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) during prostration?
Answer:
This hadith is authentic, and the meaning of "prayer" here is supplication. If a person sets aside a time to send many blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), then Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He) rewards him for that, and a good deed is multiplied tenfold, up to an uncountable amount of virtue. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2457Da'if (Darussalam) If he increases in sending blessings upon him (peace and blessings be upon him), some of the scholars of knowledge said: This questioner had a specific time he set aside for supplication, so if he devoted that entire time to sending blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he would attain this virtue: .
Therefore, one should increase in sending blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). If he sends blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in prostration before supplicating, praises Allah, and sends blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), this is among the causes of the supplication being answered. Similarly, sending blessings upon him in the final tashahhud, then supplicating after that, is among the causes of the supplication being answered.
And likewise in other cases, if he praises Allah, extols Him, sends blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and then supplicates, this is among the causes of the supplication being answered. This is because it is established from him (peace and blessings be upon him) that when he saw a man supplicating without sending blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he said: Then he said: Bulugh al-Maram 2:207 Thus, he guided to the fact that one should praise Allah first, then send blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and then supplicate for whatever he wishes, and this is among the causes of the supplication being answered.
It is prescribed for you, O sister in Allah! to strive in sending blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) by night and day. And if you send blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in prostration, there is nothing wrong with it; because prostration is a place for supplication. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Sunan Abi Dawud 875Sahih (Al-Albani) And he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Riyad as-Salihin 1427 meaning: It is fitting that your supplications be answered.
It is prescribed in that to praise Allah, send blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and then supplicate.
And likewise at the end of the prayer, one recites the tahiyyat, testifies to the two testimonies, then sends blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) with the Ibrahimic prayer, then seeks refuge in Allah from the punishment of the Hellfire, from the punishment of the grave, from the trial of life and death, and from the trial of the false messiah, then supplicates for whatever he wishes, and he is fitting to have his supplication answered.
And likewise, if he supplicates in other times, such as the morning, or the midday, or the night, or any time, if he supplicates, it is recommended for him to begin his supplication with praising Allah and extolling Him, then sending blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and then supplicating. Yes.
