The reward of one who does not complete the tarawih prayer with the imam
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Your Eminence! This questioner says: If a person prays four rak'ahs, or six, and so on, with the imam, but does not complete the rest of the prayer with him, does he receive the reward of one who stands with the imam, and is the standing of the night recorded for him? What is the ruling on one who prays only the witr prayer in Ramadan?
Answer:
He receives the reward for what he prayed, but the standing of the night is not recorded for him unless he completes the prayer with the imam until the imam departs. If he completes it with the imam, the standing of the night is recorded for him. However, if he prays one salam or two salams with him, he receives the reward for that as a voluntary prayer; it is all voluntary. But it is better to complete it with him so that he obtains the virtue of standing in night prayer.
The presenter: May Allah reward you.
