Among the Causes of Guidance

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
I hope you will direct us to the causes of guidance. May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
Guidance has causes, among which are: asking Allah, supplicating to Him for guidance, seeking success, and the expansion of the chest for the truth. Allah says:
Call upon Me; I will respond to you.ادْعُونِي أَسْتَجِبْ لَكُمْ
[Ghafir: 60]. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said about Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He) that He said:
Ask Me for guidance and I will guide youاستهدوني أهدكم
.
So a person asks his Lord that Allah guide him, expand his chest for the truth, and help him to obey Him and obey His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him). This is among the greatest causes: supplicating to Allah.
And asking Him (Exalted and Majestic is He) for guidance, and persisting in that, especially in the times of response, such as: the last part of the night, the middle of the night, between the adhan and the iqamah, at the end of the prayer, in prostration, on Friday when the imam sits on the pulpit until the prayer is established, and on the last day of Friday after the 'Asr prayer until the sun sets. All these are times in which response is hoped for. The believer should persist in asking for guidance, in asking for success, in asking for his own rectitude and the rectitude of his offspring, and in asking Allah for the rulers of the Muslims that He guide them, grant them success, rectify their condition, and help them in all good. These are appropriate times.
Among the causes of guidance is: increasing the recitation of the Qur'an and reflecting on its meanings, for Allah has made it a cause of guidance. He the Exalted said:
Indeed, this Qur'an guides to that which is most suitableإِنَّ هَذَا الْقُرْآنَ يَهْدِي لِلَّتِي هِيَ أَقْوَمُ
[Al-Isra: 9]
Say, "It is, for those who believe, a guidance and cure."قُلْ هُوَ لِلَّذِينَ آمَنُوا هُدًى وَشِفَاءٌ
[Fussilat: 44]. So increasing the recitation of the Qur'an with reflection, understanding, and turning the heart to it is among the causes of guidance.
Among the causes of guidance is: caring for the Sunnah of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) and his biography, by reading the biography of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and the biography of his Companions, and reading the hadiths reported in that regard. This is among the causes of guidance.
Among the causes of guidance is also: keeping the company of the righteous and the good, by taking them as companions and sitting with them.
Among the causes of guidance is: attending the circles of knowledge of the scholars, the well-known shaykhs of good, by sitting with them, listening to the circles of knowledge, and benefiting from them. All of this is among the causes of guidance.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good, and may He do you good.
