The wide open ground that people frequent and sit on for long periods, and I am not sure of its cleanliness: Is the prayer valid in it, and what is the ruling on praying on

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : He says in his question: The wide open ground that people frequent and sit on for long periods, and I am not sure of its cleanliness: Is the prayer valid in it? And what is the ruling on praying on the carpet that we sit on often and always carry in our car, which may be exposed to dust, dirt, and other impurities?

The Shaykh : Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may Allah send blessings and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and all his Companions:
Yes, the wide open ground on which people sit for long periods with their families and young boys is pure until a person is certain of its impurity, due to the generality of the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
the earth has been made for me a place of worship and a means of purification. جعلت لي الأرض مسجداً وطهورا
Sunan Ibn Majah 567Sahih (Darussalam)
Even if it is more likely that it is impure, it remains pure as long as one is not certain. If one becomes certain that it is impure and time has passed over it, then the sun and the wind purify it, provided no trace of the impurity remains. Likewise, the carpets on which one prostrates, places in the car or on the ground, and which young boys walk on, are also pure as long as one is not certain of their impurity.
And let it be known that the original state of things is purity until a person is certain of their impurity, and the original state of things is permissibility until a person is certain of their prohibition, except for acts of worship, which are those by which one draws near to Allah; the original state of these is prohibition and restriction unless their prescription is established.
