Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
You mention a hadith of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), which is:
No one has ever eaten better food than what he eats as a result of the labour of his hands. God’s prophet Davidما أكل أحد طعامًا قط خيرًا من أن يأكل من عمل يديه، وإن نبي الله داود 
Mishkat al-Masabih 2759
He used to eat from the work of his hands. What is the authenticity of this hadith?

Answer:
This is an authentic hadith, narrated by al-Bukhari in his Sahih. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Nobody has ever eaten a better meal than that which one has earned by working with one's own hands. The Prophet (ﷺ) of Allah, David used to eat from the earnings of his manual labor.ما أكل أحد طعامًا خيرًا من أن يأكل من عمل يده، وإن نبي الله داود كان يأكل من عمل يده
Sahih al-Bukhari 2072
(peace and blessings be upon him).
This encourages earning lawful income and striving to seek lawful sustenance through blacksmithing, shepherding, carpentry, or other manual labor, provided there is sincerity and the fulfillment of trust in the work. This is lawful earnings. Agriculture is also included, as it is a manual labor, as is writing. If a person is sincere in this and fulfills what is required of him, then this is among the purest of lawful earnings. Yes.
