What is the ruling on smoking?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
I have a letter from a person who preferred not to mention his name, containing two questions. The first question is: What is the opinion of Your Eminence, the Shaykh, regarding smoking? Is it forbidden or permissible? Our brother then adds: I believe you have answered this before, but I did not hear it, so please allow me to ask. May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
We have answered regarding smoking more than once. Smoking is forbidden, it is an evil, and it has many harms to religion, health, and wealth. It may also cause intoxication at times for those who delay it and then drink it, or consume a large amount of it. It results in many damages. Many scholars have explicitly stated its prohibition and that it is an evil. Therefore, it is obligatory to be cautious of it and to leave it, because of the many harms and severe consequences it entails. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
