The ruling on one who gave her child medicine and he died as a result

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
From the listener (M. Ibrahim) from Jeddah, Al-Hindawiyyah, a letter mentioning a case that says: I had a small child who was afflicted with measles, and some people prescribed a folk remedy for me, so I prepared that remedy, which was a mixture of dates, sorghum, and garlic. Then I gave it to the child, and while I was doing so, water came out of his nose; then he died immediately. Since that moment, I have been suffering greatly, and I say: I am the cause of his death, and I am certain that the One who kills is Allah, but every thing has a cause, so I was the cause of his death. Do I have a sin in his death? Or am I free from his sin? I am in confusion about my matter until you benefit me and resolve my case. May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
If the woman who prescribed this medicine is known for treatment, and that she is successful in her treatment, experienced; then there is nothing upon you. But if she is not known for treatment, not known for success in her treatment; then upon you is the expiation: and it is freeing a believing slave; if you are unable to do so; fast two consecutive months... sixty days.. And we ask Allah to heal your calamity, and to forgive your sin.
The point is: If the woman who prescribed the treatment is a woman known for medicine.. for treatment, successful, experienced, trustworthy; then there is nothing upon you if you only did what she said, and did not add anything. But if you changed it, and did not adhere to what she said, or if she was not known for care in treatment, and not known for success in treatment; then you are the cause, and upon you is the expiation: and it is freeing a believing slave, male or female, if that is not facilitated; then fasting two consecutive months, sixty days, and upon you is the blood money upon the 'aqilah, if the heirs demand the blood money, so the blood money is upon the 'aqilah upon the 'asabah if the heirs demand the blood money, and if they do not demand it; then there is nothing upon you, so there is nothing in that, the important thing is the expiation, yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
