It is better to say the Basmala aloud when eating and drinking

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
May Allah reward you. Regarding the Basmala, O Shaykh, when eating and drinking, is it said secretly or aloud?

Answer:
Aloud, so that those present can hear, benefit, and emulate one another. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to order those present to say the Basmala. When a Bedouin came to eat, he held his hand until he said the Basmala. He said to a boy who was eating with him, who was his foster son 'Umar ibn Abi al-Salamah:
Dear child, mention Allah's Name, eat with your right hand, and eat from what is next to you.يا غلام سم الله، وكل بيمينك، وكل مما يليك
Bulugh al-Maram 8:98
That is why 'Umar ibn Abi al-Salamah said, "This is my way of eating," from the time the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) taught him this manner: saying the Basmala, eating with the right hand, saying "In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate," or "In the name of Allah." If he completes it with "In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate," that is better. He eats with his right hand and eats from what is nearest to him, unless the food is varied, in which case he may eat from the second type.
