Ruling on a woman removing hair from her face, arms, and legs
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Our sister from Aleppo shares a question with a listener from Jordan, (A. M.). They share this question regarding the removal of hair from a woman's face, especially the eyebrows, and also regarding the removal of hair from the rest of a woman's body, such as the arms and legs, and the like. What is your guidance for women on this matter? May Allah reward you with good, O Shaykh.
Answer:
A woman must not pluck her eyebrows, nor any hair on her face that does not cause disfigurement, but is ordinary; because this is plucking out the eyebrows. However, if something grows on the face that disfigures the appearance, such as a mustache or a beard, there is no harm in removing it. As for the eyebrows and ordinary hair on the face, she must not remove any of it; because "the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) cursed the one who plucks out her eyebrows and the one who has it done." As for the hair on the arms and legs, there is no harm in removing it. Yes.
The presenter: May Allah reward you with good, and may He do you good.
