The ruling on reciting Ayat al-Kursi and raising the hands in supplication after the prayer

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
One of the listening brothers says: What is the ruling on reciting Ayat al-Kursi after the prayer? And also supplication with raising the hands, and other hadiths? May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
It is recommended for the believing man and woman to recite Ayat al-Kursi after every obligatory prayer, namely Zuhr, 'Asr, Maghrib, 'Isha', and Fajr. It is recommended to recite Ayat al-Kursi after every obligatory prayer, along with reciting
Say, "He is Allah, [who is] One,قل هو الله أحد
[Al-Ikhlas 112:1]
and the two Mu'awwidhat after every obligatory prayer. The three surahs are repeated three times after Maghrib and Fajr, and likewise when going to sleep. This is recommended for the man and the woman after Zuhr, 'Asr, Maghrib, 'Isha', and Fajr. One recites Ayat al-Kursi, which is:
Allah - there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of [all] existenceاللَّهُ لا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ
[al-Baqarah:255] to its end, and recites
Say, "He is Allah, [who is] One,قل هو الله أحد
[Al-Ikhlas 112:1]
and the two Mu'awwidhat likewise after Zuhr, 'Asr, Maghrib, 'Isha', and Fajr. However, the three surahs are repeated three times after Maghrib and Fajr, and it is recommended to recite them three times when going to sleep as well.
As for raising the hands, one does not raise his hands after the obligatory prayers; because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not raise his hands after the obligatory prayer, and this was not recorded from him -peace and blessings be upon him- and his doing it is a sunnah, and his leaving it is a sunnah. We do what he did, and we leave what he left. So it is not recommended to raise the hands after the five obligatory prayers; because the Messenger did not do it -peace and blessings be upon him- but one remembers Allah as mentioned in a previous question.. one remembers Allah, and recites Ayat al-Kursi, and these three surahs after every obligatory prayer without raising the hands, following the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in both the action and the omission.
Remembering Allah after the prayer, you start with seeking forgiveness three times, saying:
O Allah, You are As-Salam, and from you is As-Salam. You are blessed, O One of Magnificence and Generosity.أستغفر الله.. أستغفر الله.. أستغفر الله، اللهم أنت السلام، ومنك السلام، تباركت يا ذا الجلال، والإكرام
Sunan Abi Dawud 1512Sahih (Al-Albani)
immediately after the taslim, the imam, the one praying behind him, and the one praying alone. Then the imam turns to the people, gives them his face, and everyone says:
There is no god but Allah alone, with no partner, to Him belongs the dominion and to Him belongs the praise, and He is over all things competent. There is no power and no strength except by Allah. There is no god but Allah, and we worship none but Him. To Him belongs the blessing, to Him belongs the favor, and to Him belongs the good praise. There is no god but Allah, sincere to Him in religion, even if the disbelievers dislike. O Allah, there is no one who can prevent what You have given, and there is no one who can give what You have withheld, and the wealth of the wealthy does not benefit him against You.
Sahih Muslim 594a
We have elaborated on this in a previous session. May Allah guide them all. Yes.

The presenter: O Allah, amen. May Allah reward you with good.
