The ruling on reciting Surah Ya-Sin, Surah al-Mulk, and the Verse of the Throne after the prayers

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
We have a custom that has continued until now. When the imam finishes the Maghrib prayer, he sits down with a group of brothers, and they recite together in one voice Surah Ya-Sin, Surah Tabaarak, and the Verse of the Throne between the times of Maghrib and Isha. What is the ruling on this? We ask for your guidance.

Answer:
This is a religious innovation with no basis. They sit after the Maghrib prayer, the imam and a group in one voice, reciting Surah Ya-Sin, Surah Tabaarak, and the Verse of the Throne. This is a religious innovation, even if they recite Surah al-Fatihah. It has no basis in the Shari'ah.
The recommended practice after the prayer is for the believer to say: I seek forgiveness from Allah three times. O Allah, You are Peace, and from You is peace. Blessed are You, O Owner of Majesty and Honor. This is the first thing. Then the imam turns to the people, and then each person says: There is no god but Allah alone, with no partner. His is the dominion, and His is the praise, and He is able to do all things. There is no power and no strength except with Allah. There is no god but Allah, and we worship none but Him. His is the blessing, and His is the favor, and His is the good praise. There is no god but Allah, we are sincere to Him in religion, even if the disbelievers hate it. O Allah, there is no one who can prevent what You have given, and there is no one who can give what You have withheld, and no one of power can benefit from You by his power. It is established from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that he used to say this when he concluded the Zuhr, Asr, Maghrib, Isha, and Fajr prayers. And he would add after the Fajr and Maghrib prayers: There is no god but Allah alone, with no partner. His is the dominion, and His is the praise. He gives life and He causes death, and He is able to do all things, ten times.
It was also reported from him (peace and blessings be upon him) that he encouraged, urged, and taught them to say after that: Glory be to Allah, praise be to Allah, and Allah is the Greatest, thirty-three times. He taught this to the poor among the emigrants, and then everyone learned it. Glory be to Allah, praise be to Allah, and Allah is the Greatest, thirty-three times. And in the hadith of Abu Hurayrah in Muslim, he says to complete the hundred:
There is no god but Allah, alone, without any partner. To Him belong the Kingdom and praise, and He has power over everything
Muwatta Malik 20:131
So the total becomes one hundred. If he says this, his sins are forgiven, even if they are like the foam of the sea.
And in the hadith of Abu Hurayrah in the two Sahihs, when the poor among the emigrants came to him, they said: O Messenger of Allah, the people of wealth—meaning the people of money—have taken the rewards. They pray as we pray, and they fast as we fast, and they give charity, and we do not give charity, and they free slaves, and we do not free slaves. We have no wealth? He said:
Shall I not direct you to something by which you will catch up with those who went before you, and you will surpass those who come after you, and no one will be better than you except one who does what you do?
They said: Yes, O Messenger of Allah. He said:
Extol Allah, declare His Greatness, and Praise Him thirty-three times after every prayer
Sahih Muslim 595a
This is in the two Sahihs... (peace and blessings be upon him). And in Muslim, he says to complete the hundred:
There is no god but Allah, alone, without any partner. To Him belong the Kingdom and praise, and He has power over everything
Muwatta Malik 20:131
So the poor returned and were saying this after every prayer. Then they returned to him and said: O Messenger of Allah, our brothers, the people of wealth, heard what we did, so they did the same—meaning they began to glorify, praise, and declare the greatness of Allah like us. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
That is the Grace of Allah which He bestows on whom He pleases.
Sunan Ibn Majah 1973Sahih (Darussalam)
When Allah grants a person wealth and types of remembrance and worship, this is His favor (may He be exalted) which He bestows on whom He wills, and Allah is the Owner of favor (may He be exalted) .
And he taught them the Verse of the Throne after every prayer
Allah - there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of [all] existence
[al-Baqarah:255] for the hadith is established regarding it. And likewise
Say, "He is Allah, [who is] One,قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ
[al-Ikhlas:1] and
Say, "I seek refuge in the Lord of daybreakقُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ
[al-Falaq:1] and
Say, "I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind,قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ
[an-Nas:1] after every prayer. And in the Maghrib and Fajr prayers, there is an addition: recite Say: He is Allah, One, and the two Seekers of Refuge three times. This is what is prescribed after the prayers. And if he makes supplications between himself and himself, there is no harm without raising the hands, for supplication after the prayer was reported from him (peace and blessings be upon him).
As for the imam and the congregation reciting in one voice, reciting this has no basis; rather, it is a religious innovation. Likewise, raising their hands in supplication after the five prayers is also a religious innovation. The recommended practice is what you heard of the action of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and his teaching (peace and blessings be upon him).
...
This is a good supplication, but it is better before the taslim. The Prophet taught Mu'adh ibn Jabal this, and it is better to do it before the taslim. And if he supplicates with it after the taslim, there is no harm:
O Allah, help me in remembering You, in giving You thanks, and worshipping You well.
Sunan Abi Dawud 1522Sahih (Al-Albani)
.
Likewise: O Allah, I have wronged myself much, and no one forgives sins except You, so forgive me a forgiveness from You, and have mercy on me, for You are the Forgiving, the Merciful. O Allah, forgive me what I have done before and what I have done after, what I have hidden and what I have made public, what I have exaggerated, and what You know better than I. You are the One who brings forward and the One who sends back. There is no god but You. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from stinginess, and I seek refuge in You from cowardice, and I seek refuge in You from being returned to the worst of age, and I seek refuge in You from the trials of this world, and I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the grave. All of this is better before the taslim, at the end of the tashahhud. And if he supplicates with some of this after the taslim, there is no harm, but between himself and himself, without a collective voice, without raising the hands with the imam. All of this is not done. Just supplication between himself and himself, and between himself and his Lord.
