The Shaykh’s remarks on seeking the assistance of disbelievers, and on the issue of supplicating against them.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : People are to be found in a better state, and there are many means by which people obtain their sustenance. Seeking sustenance is obligatory, and seeking victory over the disbeliever is likewise obligatory. However, no means is prescribed except what is permitted to be adopted from the Book of Allah or the hadith of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). Then, what is behind this question? Whether it is this or that, nothing results from it. Does that mean it is permissible to seek the assistance of disbelievers? The answer is: No. Now, suppose that the victory of the oppressed over the oppressor was achieved through the supplications of the Muslims. There is nothing strange about that, because the supplication of a Muslim, if the known conditions in the Sunnah are met, is answered. But it is not necessary that the answer be as he desires. In summary, Allah knows best regarding this question; the answer is that Allah knows best. First, and second, I do not believe that anything of benefit or knowledge would result from knowing the answer to what we do not know.
The student : May Allah reward you with good.

The Shaykh : And may Allah protect you, if Allah wills.
