The obligation of justice between children in gifts

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
This is a questioner from Syria. I understood the reality of his long message and his style regarding the ruling in the Shari'ah in your view, O honorable Shaykh, concerning a father who differentiates between his children in gifts?

Answer:
It is not permissible. It is obligatory for fathers to be just; because it is established from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said:
Be afraid of Allah, and be just to your children.اتقوا الله واعدلوا بين أولادكم
Sahih al-Bukhari 2587
, so it is not permissible for the father or the mother to prefer one child over another. Rather, it is obligatory to equalize, with the male receiving the share of two females. This is the obligation of the man and the woman regarding their children. However, if they are of legal age and they permit their father or mother to give something specifically to one of them for reasons that necessitate it, then there is no harm. But to give to one without the other, or to prefer one over another; that is not permissible except with the permission of those of legal age. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you, O honorable Shaykh, and may Allah bless you and your knowledge and benefit the Muslims through you.
