The ruling on a person who has performed tayammum leading those who have performed wudu'

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
At the beginning of this episode, we return to a message we received from one of our brother listeners, which contained approximately fifteen questions. Our brother is Uthman Muhammad. We addressed some of his questions in a previous episode, and in this episode he still has a number of questions. In one of them, he asks: Is it permissible for a person who has performed tayammum to lead a congregation of people who have performed wudu'?

Answer:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon the Messenger of Allah, and upon his family and his Companions, and upon those who follow his guidance. As for what follows:
Yes, there is nothing wrong with a person who has performed tayammum leading people who have performed wudu', provided he has a valid legal excuse that permits him to perform tayammum. In that case, he prays with the people who have performed wudu', and there is no blame on him, and praise be to Allah. This is because tayammum is a legal form of ritual purity. So if he is ill and unable to use water, and he performs tayammum, he prays with them even if they have performed wudu'. Or if they are traveling and they have performed wudu', but then he becomes in a state of ritual impurity and there is no water available, and he performs tayammum, he prays with them. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
